Anne Barron AFC
Artist and Illustrator
Welcome to my website, and I hope you enjoy looking at my work. I've loved to draw all my life and I specialise in painting and drawing animals, but as you will see, that is just the beginning ....
I have been drawing ever since I can remember and, over a lifetime of learning, and hundreds of delighted clients in a 15 year career as a professional artist, have developed the ability to capture the essence of an animal or a person, choosing the medium and style that is most appropriate to each particular portrait.
As you will see, I also take commissions for cartoons as well as more traditional paintings of scenery, houses, boats, etc, with my aim always being to present you with a painting or drawing that will become an instant family heirloom.
My love of animals has generated fundraising of thousands of pounds over the years for various wildlife and conservation charities and, combined with my artwork, this has led to me being accepted as a juried full member of the prestigious Artists For Conservation which boasts many of the top wildlife artists in the world.
About My Work
Mrs Anne Barron
Duncansclate (Bailey & Barron)
Although a self-taught artist, I had done such a lot of years of teaching and demonstrating to art clubs that I felt the need to continue to pass on all my skills. I now run an art club in Shetland and continue to give one-to-one lessons and also online or "by post" coaching/critiques.
I`ll soon be posting some new tips & techniques short videos to Youtube. If you'd like to be advised when they are uploaded, please email me. If you enjoy the videos, please Subscribe" for notification of future uploads. If you have a technique you'd like to see a video about, please let me know.
Thinking of Shetland for a holiday? Contact me about a 1-day, 2-day or weeks painting and drawing course tailored exactly to your needs. This would include accommodation, tuition, and all art materials and equipment provided.
